GDPR Statement

1. WHO WE ARE

For the purposes of GDPR and for our EU clients, “we” “us” “Compass” refers to Compass International Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 12235247, having its registered office at Griffin House, 135 High Street, Crawley, RH10 1DQ. Ireland clients may be contracted with Compass Education Holdings Limited, a company registered in Ireland. 

2. DEFINITIONS

“Clients” shall mean clients of Compass.

“Data Controller” has the meaning set out in Data Protection Legislation. 

“Data Processor” has the meaning set out in Data Protection Legislation. 

“Data Protection Legislation” means all applicable data protection and privacy legislation in force from time to time in the UK including the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679); the Data Protection Act 2018; the Privacy and Electronic Communications Directive 2002/58/EC (as updated by Directive 2009/136/EC) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (SI 2003/2426) as amended.

EEA” means  the European Economic Area.

3. OUR ROLE

For most personal data collected through our website(s) traffic, where you submit a request or query to directly to us or where we market to you, we will be considered Data Controller of such personal data.

For most personal data within the Compass Platform, applications, or software or where we provide services and online solutions to our Clients, access to the Compass Platform (and Services) is through a service agreement with our Clients. As such we will be the Data Processor and our Client will be the Data Controller. From time-to-time Compass may also provide Services in which we request information directly from you, in these circumstances we may act as the Data Controller for the provision of the product or service.

Where the Client is the Data Controller they are usually easily identifiable through our platform branding and labelling, however should you wish to confirm or clarify the Data Controller entity for your personal data and account, you may email legal+eu@compass.education. Emails requesting details of the Data Controller must include the URL of the service/portal you are using as well as your full name and account ID (username).

4. DATA TRANSFERS

We may share your personal data with the limited third parties set out in our Privacy Policy.

Compass International Ltd is part of a group organisation (“Compass Group”) and has its parent company in Australia.  Where the Compass Group provides support and maintenance to you in relation to your use of the Compass Platform, Website and/or applications, it may collect, store and process your personal data.  Most support is provided by Compass but in some circumstances (for example where the support required is excessive, complicated or required out of hours), the support required may be provided by another entity within the Compass Group. As such your personal data in relation to any support or maintenance request you submit may be processed outside of the EEA. In this scenario, the compass Group ensures that it has the appropriate and adequate measures in place in relation to such processing of personal data outside of the EEA. 

5. GDPR COMPLIANCE

Compass International Ltd takes data security seriously and strives to ensure GDPR compliance through its compliance with Data Protection Legislation.

All personal data is processed in accordance with Privacy Policy and the Additional Terms referred to therein.
